Well, it's here, the BIG game...or at least for me it is :) Denver Broncos vs. my old Home team (although I rarely rooted for them) the reigning NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks!

I've always been a Denver fan since my dad grew up here and taught me to love Elway! But the years of a superstar QB have been over in Denver for a while now and we are switching to a rookie this next week against the Seahawks (rookie QB = Jay Cutler). It will be his first NFL regular season start...I'm hoping for something better than passing to the opposing team like our last QB seemed to enjoy doing (Jake Plummer), even though he did have his moments of brilliance.

A friend of mine back in Washington State Jeff Smith and I are putting on a bet (Jeff happens to be a great guy other than him being a Seahawks fan -> actually a lot of my family are Seahawks fans...but they can't hurt me too much 3 states away)...

The Stakes: The looser must post the logo of the rival team on their website and explain how wonderful the other team is (actually I added that last part without talking to Jeff so that isn't official).

UPDATED STAKES: The stakes have changed -->  The looser of the bet will take a picture with a "I LOVE the <winning team here>" Poster, and that gets to be posted on both sites Tongue out

Jeff's Site: www.rustyhinges.com  (his families blog site, a great read to keep up on the Smiths and for general encouragement! Or if you like Mac's and Golf)

Jed's Site: www.pennafamily.com (you are already here)

So we have Seattle coming off a HUGE win over Greenbay with their QB back in the game (albeit a slow start) and their star Running Back giving a 201 rushing yard performance (4th best in Monday Night Football History), versus Denver's back to back losses to the Chargers and the Cheifs. Denver has had a strong defense this year but not much offense. We are banking on the rookie first round pick Cutler to bring some spark back to the offense and allow our defense a rest for a change.

The showdown begins, Sunday Night Football, Primetime...Denver vs. Seattle (at Denver)!

We'll see who's bragging or lamenting after the game Wink
